Furniture Emporium Expansion is Simply Unique-Thursday 11th of May 2006 19:57:51

Simply Dutch, one of the region’s fastest-growing furniture emporiums, is celebrating its tenth successful year in business by extending its already extensive product range.

The Leeming Bar-based specialist furniture and pine retailer, which is owned by Jason Hadlow from Yarm, has reported a significant increase in turnover bringing it into direct competition with many high street brands.

Although established over a decade ago, Jason only took control of the business in early 2004. Since then he has extended what Simply Dutch has to offer by importing an even wider range of more unusual Dutch furniture, re-designing the 20,000 square feet showroom and adding custom built kitchens and a new conservatory and external garden furniture department.

Now entering his third year in business, Jason has invested further by adding a café area and incorporating a range of specialists including an interior designer, a kitchen designer, an antique fireplace specialist and a specialist water feature service.

In addition, and in an unusual twist to the traditional nature of the business, a sports injuries clinic has also opened on site. Nicola Nicol is a remedial and sports massage therapist who trained in Melbourne, Australia and is a member of both the London and Counties Society of Physiologists and the Sports Massage Association.

Stacy Murray-Field is Simply Dutch’s new interior designer and runs SMF Designs and Ken Astley takes care of the kitchen department and boasts over twenty years experience in the industry.

Speaking about the recent expansion of Simply Dutch, Jason Hadlow commented:

“Simply Dutch has been recognised as a quirky antithesis to the usual flat-packed array of furniture on the high street for more than ten years. Since we took over the business we have worked to offer the loyal customers a variety of services to meet with their growing demands.

“It’s important that we can continually offer something different and the new additions to the business, especially our interiors designer and sports injuries clinic, are really making us stand out from the crowd which we always strive to do. Our rapid growth in turnover has bucked the national retail trend and proves that our individuality and attention to customer care are keeping people coming back for more.

“Simply Dutch isn’t just about furniture it’s about lifestyle. Our perfect location close to the A1 and our eye-catching work is constantly attracting people from all over the UK and now from around the world as well. I have always maintained that our customers are a canny lot and prepared to travel for a bargain.”

Simply Dutch currently employs a team of five, including two members of the original family who founded the company.

Jason now plans to continue with his expansion by adding 10,000 square feet and introducing new services in the coming twelve months.
